The Diamond Independence Day Dueling Fireworks

July 4, 2018. Fireworks start about 10 minutes after the game ends.

Fireworks at The Diamond are a time-honored RVA tradition―which is why the July 4th game sells out every year. Snag your tickets early (just $8-14) to enjoy America's favorite pastime as well as one of the area's largest fireworks displays.

Dogwood Dell

July 4, 2018. Music begins at 6pm; fireworks start at dark.

For over 60 years, Dogwood Dell has hosted the Festival of the Arts, a free summer series that includes a July Fourth performance by the Richmond Concert Band as well as a reading from the Declaration of Independence. Concert begins at 7:30pm. Arrive early for a seat in the Dell; fireworks start at dark.

Rocketts Red Glare (Rocketts Landing)

July 2-4, 2018. Fireworks July 4 at 9pm.

Back for its second year, this free event hosted by the City of Richmond, Richmond Region Tourism, the 288 Group, and the Richmond Volleyball Club includes family-friendly activities, vendors, music, food trucks, craft beer offerings and a pro beach volleyball tournament. The event culminates with riverfront fireworks on Wednesday, July 4 at 9pm.

Red, White & Lights (Henrico)

July 4, 2018. 4-10pm. New location for 2018: Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Rd.

Wishing for more than just fireworks this Fourth of July? Henrico's mega-celebration includes live music, fireworks, a laser-light display, and a family fun zone with inflatables, an obstacle course, airbrush tattoos, Miss Sheri the Clown, Uncle Sam on Stilts, and more. Bring a blanket and enjoy a food truck picnic!

Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration

July 4, 2018. 5-9pm; fireworks at dark.

Head out to the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds this Independence Day for an evening of family fun. This free event includes food vendors, special entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display at dark; purchase a $5 kids' wristband for additional access to children's amusements and inflatables. Parking is limited, and fairgrounds roads will be closed when the parking lots are full, so arrive early!

Fourth at the Fort (Fort Lee)

July 4, 2018. 5-10pm; fireworks at 9:30pm.

Nothing says patriotism like celebrating our nation's birth with our soldiers and their families at Fort Lee! This free, family-friendly event includes food, live music, and a big KidZone, all topped off with an evening fireworks display.

Smith Mountain Lake Fireworks Fundraiser

July 4, 2018. Doors open 5:30pm.

Another patriotic option this Fourth is to support our firefighters! Head over to Smith Mountain Lake's Parkway Marina for fun, food, fireworks, music, and activities for the whole family. $10 per person; all proceeds benefit the Saunders Volunteer Fire Company.

July 4 Jubilee (Wintergreen)

June 29 – July 4, 2018

Take a break from RVA heat and humidity by venturing into the Blue Ridge Mountains for the Wintergreen Resort July 4 Jubilee. With music, children's block parties, a movie under the stars, and chairlift rides, this will be an American birthday party like none other. Fireworks on Tuesday, July 3rd!

Star Spangled Celebration at King's Dominion

June 30 – July 4, 2018

Don your red, white, and blue, and enjoy King's Dominion's five-day celebration. In addition to the park's rides and entertainment, enjoy live performances from military bands, and, of course, fireworks! Free admission for military service members (active, retired, and honorably discharged) and discounted tickets for military friends and family.

Busch Gardens Fireworks Spectacular

July 3-5, 2018. Fireworks at 8:30pm.

If a day of amusement followed by a night of fireworks sounds like a blast to you, head out to Busch Gardens this Independence Day. Fireworks are easily visible throughout the park, but for the best views, you can reserve a picnic or river cruise.

Independence Day Celebration & Citizenship Ceremony

Wednesday, July 4, 2018. 9am-5pm.

With over 1,300 people in attendance last year, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture will once again be hosting a full day of patriotic festivities! Enjoy live music and a large-scale citizenship naturalization ceremony. Free admission.

CarMax Free Fourth at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens

Wednesday, July 4, 2018. 9am-5pm.

If the idea of strolling through the beautiful grounds of Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens sounds like a perfect Fourth to you, enjoy free admission all day courtesy of CarMax! This sponsored event includes full access to the gardens, Butterflies LIVE!, and Origami in the Garden. Bring a wagon or stroller to decorate for the children's parade, or let your little ones cool off in the Water Play area. Free admission.

"Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!" Reenactment

Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Two performances: 11am and 1pm.

Watch history come to life this Independence Day as professional actors in 1770s attire portray the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775 at its original location right here in Richmond, Virginia! Witness ten delegates, including Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington, reenact the debates and arguments of the historic Second Virginia Convention, which culminates with Patrick Henry's immortal "Give me Liberty or Give me Death!" speech. Choose a morning or afternoonreenactment. Free to attend, but tickets may be purchased for a guaranteed seat and no lines.

Pamplin Historical Park Independence Tribute

Wednesday, July 4, 2018. 9am-5pm.

Wonder what life was like back when our country first claimed independence? Head down to Petersburg and visit the Pamplin Historical Park for special July 4th living history programs. See what it was really like to be a Civil War soldier or explore a taste of the good life on an authentic 19^th-century plantation. There will be special demonstrations and an artillery firing by costumed interpreters.

All events and activities are included with park admission; the park is currently offering $1 Days of Summer general admission.
