Jamie Karek is a founding partner of CLG. She has been representing injured laborers for nearly a decade. As a former labor union member and the first in her family to go to college, she has seen first-hand the relationship between employer and employee and is dedicated to improving the Virginia system and protecting workers’ rights.
Jamie’s practice focuses on handling workers’ compensation cases. Jamie has represented hundreds of claimants before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, from settlements to hearings to appeals. She has also argued a number of appeals before the Court of Appeals of Virginia. In addition, Jamie represents various labor unions in arbitration proceedings against employers who have engaged in unfair labor practices.
After graduating from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, Jamie earned a Master’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law. While there, she worked on the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public Interest and was honored with the Virginia AFL-CIO Workers’ Rights Scholarship as well as the Public Interest Law Association Pro Bono Award. She also served as Fundraising Chair for Phi Alpha Delta.
